Well, I figure since Windows XP still will be in service until 2014
Microsoft has been trying to make sure things like .Net are still
backward compatible as much as they can. After all, Visual Studio 2010
just came out and .Net 4.0 is now suppose to be the new .Net standard,
or will be once the .Net developers switch to VS .Net 2010. If that is
the case then Microsoft would have to offer .Net 4.0 support for XP
since it is still widely in use. Not doing so would likely kill their
.Net platform or force developers into sticking with the .Net 3.x
platform to maintain backward compatibility with XP. They don't want
to do that I'm sure.
Try Linux the free open source desktop solution. Let's live in a world
free of Windows and Gates.
