Hi Dark, Thanks so much for your information about programming games. It sounds a bit daunting, but I think that if I really put my mind to it, I could get it done, with a lot of help from my friends. Smile. About your philosophy thesis, I know you can get it done. As the song says, just knuckle down, buckle down and do it, do it, do it. Also, when you are writing, cursing and eating a lot of chocolate helps. Smile.

What you essentially need to do is write up some code, that is instructions in a specially formatted language that the computer will follow and thus create your game. you might for instance tell the computer to print a message to the screen, tell the computer that a certain number (known as a variable), is player health and when this reaches zero the computer should print a death message, tell the computer to play sounds etc. What is complicated is that the computer isn't especially clever when it comes to following instructions, so they need to be typed up in a very specific programming language, then compiled into a game for people to run. of course, this language can create any program, not just games, anything you want your computer to do provided that the language your giving the instructions in supports those sorts of instructions. there are various guides and resources about finding out about programming around, and the bgt blastbay developement kit tool which is specifically created for making audio games and can be found at http://www.blastbay.com/ Bare in mind though, it's not an easy process, indeed it's something you'd need to practice at fairly extensively and devote a lot of effort too. This is in fact why I myself haven't started on it as yet, since trying to learn programming just isn't compatible with trying to write a phd thesis in philosophy. i might look at doing it when I'm finished, ---- though currently it's looking like I'll be attempting to sing professionally, so may not even ahve the time then, :d. Either way though, if you want to get involved with programming, there are lots of places to start off, and people such as Tom ward on list who can give you some good information on general guides, programming languages and the like. hth.
