Well, yes and no. Obviously people have to be reasonable how hard they
press the keys on the keyboard.  If someone is too rough that is there
problem, because it doesn't take that much pressure to press a key or
button. Plus I can see plenty of cases where there would be an
advantage to lightly tapping a key for small jumps, for walking slowly
or something else. For a larger jump or running slightly adding
pressure will  increase the size of the jump or speed of the player.
Pressing it as hard as a person can is unnecessary, and hitting it
like a hammer is just down right being idiotic.
