Hi Michael, Ah, all the words from a standard dictionary? No offense but that would take forever to program since I've got a dictionary here with 50,000 words. Besides selecting words at random wouldn't work anyway. There has to be some sort of artificial intelligence involved in supplying responses, and some sort of character profile created for each spirit generated for the game.
For example, to make the game at all realistic if you ask the spirit when it was born and it says it was born in 1492 in France the developer would have to do a bit of historical research to make the spirit real. To begin with the developer should have a database of popular male and female French names used in the late 1400's.Then, have a database of towns where the spirit could have been born, lived, and died. The developer would have to create a job that would have been appropriate for the spirit's gender and would be historically accurate. It would be funny but not realistic if the spirit claims to be a computer programmer if he/she was born in 1492 a tailor or something like that might be more appropriate. As you can see just from this brief overview programming something like this could get complex. Especially, if we are talking about creating profiles of spirits from any period in history, any country, and so on. Cheers!
