Hi Lindsay, If that is your only method for backing up data by all means do so. These days an external drive is pretty inexpensive and I would seriously consider investing in one if I were you as its always possible you will have to reinstall all your software at some point and anything you have on the PC books, movies, music, games, whatever will get lost if you don't invest in some sort of backup system.
