Hi Kieth.
spells will tell you what spells you know and at what levels, and slist will
tell you what you can learn. scrolls are just for instance casting spells,
you cannot learn from them, indeed they are usefull for none mage characters
to cast spells like fly or identify. As to difficulty, the game is live
action and at speed, that is just the way muds in general and alteraeon in
particular work. remember as a mage, your main offense is your magic spells,
and you won't have tonnes of armor or powerfull weapons, so try and find
stratogies that avoid being hit in combat so that you can use magics, or
ways to increase your resistance to damage through magical means. Both of
these will become available when you get more classes in the game, though
I'll leave stratogy to people who are more inclined to play mages (I'm a
clerric warrior necro myself).
Beware the Grue!
Dark.

Subject: [Audyssey] alter aeon questions
Hi, I have a few begginer questions about alter aeon
First, with the mage, how can I tell which spells I know..
Second, if I come across a scroll with a spell on it, is it possible to
learn the spell from the scroll, or do I have to learn it from the wagon
near the healer's hut in the beginning camp?
Also, I know the game is live action, but is there a way to make it more
"turn based". Just seems that I keep getting my butt wooped on whenever I
get into a fight.
Thanks
Keith
