yes, vipmud will run on windows 7, vista and xp. the reason it only lists
vista is that at the time it was released vista was the new os out so david
greenwood highlighted the compatibility for it and hasn't updated the info.
About program files x86 I'm afraid I'm not sure since I'm still on xp
myself.

Okay, I was looking at the VIP MUD, and it only went to VISTA...I'm
assuming that it will work with W7, though...It is my resolution to
