This is an alternative to the multicast configuration. Rather than having the nodes multicast their metrics (and listen for other node metrics on the multicast address), you can configure the nodes to send their metrics to only specific hosts (upd_send), and those "collector" nodes in turn will listen on specific addresses for upd traffic (udp_receive) to collect the metrics.
