An apparently weirder problem, with the same new gmetad. Ganglia web graphs show data until the most recent gmetad restart, and no newer data... until I restart again, and all the missing data appears.
The environment: gmetad 3.0.7 running on a network of gmond 3.0.1 hosts, Red Hat EL4 Linux [hostname] 2.6.9-55.0.12.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Oct 17 08:19:30 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux All hosts are in one cluster. There are just 2 subdirs of ganglia/rrds/: ClusterName, & __SummaryInfo__ The problem: Ganglia web graphs all show correct historical data, up until the point in time when gmetad was most recently restarted. Any area in the graphs past that point in time is blank: grid lines and time labels are still there, but no data lines. gmetad is still updating the RRD files. I can see with gmetad -d 2 that it is writing updates frequently. I can verify with rrdtool dump that new data is being written to the RRDs. If I restart gmetad (service gmetad restart) then all of the new data becomes visible in Ganglia web graphs - both the older data I could view before, and all the new data since then, with no gap. But then as time passes, the blank areas on the graphs grows, until the next time I restart gmetad.
