:-) it stress the fact that it _should_ contain the fix I have not test it yet . If you are experimenting the peaks with that version and using controller 5708 then the problem is caused by another thing :-( When I was investigating the problem, I wrote this (my notes): << start I check that the fix was done in kernel 2.6.22 http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.22 When the driver BNX2 was updated to version 1.5.11 For rhel4 that update came in U6: https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/release-not es/RELEASE-NOTES-U6-x86-en.html bnx2 driver: updated to version 1.5.11 to support 5709 hardware. So, as soon as we install a kernel U6 or newer we should see those peaks go away note: we seeing this peak in rhel5u1, which has the updated driver, the controller in this case is BNC5706 looks like the kernel developer know that 5706 and 5708 share the same problem: http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-netdev/2008/1/14/567587/thread <<< end So as you can see, we are seeing the peaks in rhel5.1 with that version of the bnx2 driver but that could because the fact we are running rhel5.1 in an older hardware with the 5706 controller and the original patch is _only_ for 5708. Until I check that the patch indee fix the problem in 5708 I will not contact redhat to request a fix for 5706 too :-) (I don't know if the developer sent the patch he sent to me also to upstream..)
