The rrd files are the only "logs" unless you count the ones for apache or whatever web you are using to serve the ganglia web frontend pages.
When you say "cluster usage" what specifically are you referring to? User that have been logged in or running jobs? Or are you referring to the memory or cpu load of the cluster?
