The Uniconfort units I have seen are probably better described as staged combustors rather than gasifiers.

The trouble is that drying the pits takes a lot of energy and time. If I am going to heat my greenhouse with them, I will need to dry in excess of 100 tons. If I can burn them wet I will save time and energy. I have been trying to think of a way to dry the pits in the hopper as they approach the combustion area and this is where the idea of an updraft gasifier came to mind. How would you envision a sidestream of the burner drying the pits? Any further thoughts?
