I don't know that expansion is good. You make some interesting points. No, it wouldn't help UF to bring in Miami or the semis. It would dilute our revenue from Florida and hurt recruiting.
Adding Texas and A&M would certainly open Texas up for recruiting for us. Yes, they would support themselves revenue wise. The schedule would be more difficult, but the prestige of playing in the SEC would also improve. We would be able to recruit nationally! Oh yeah, we're already doing that! :-) How about bringing Tulane and Georgia Tech back? None of this will matter if the big 10 doesn't add more than one school. They have to add one. The lack of a playoff game is killing them with the NC game and with other bowls. Even the "Grandaddy of them all" is probably going to start looking at other teams if they remain static.
