A very thoughtful post, Jong.

The offensive line was shuffled for this game and will get fixed.  Rainey did
make the tip-catch for our final touchdown.  As for fumbles, I believed we had
about 8 of them, losing two.  Most of them were by Brantley as a result of a
bad
snap, so you can't really blame those on the running backs coach.

I agree that we will improve greatly next week.

Subject: [gatortalk] Some Observations

Definitely not the best game I've ever seen the Gators play.

I can't explain why the snaps from center were so bad, but as far as the OL
performance overall, I saw a lot of names I didn't expect to see.  For example,
I saw a lot of Halapio.  I also saw Harrison and Silberman.  Maybe some of the
starters got injured, and that's why there was no push from the OL.  I know
Wilson was injured, but they didn't mention the extent.

I don't care what the coaches say, Rainey is no Harvin.  That's not a knock on
Rainey; Harvin is simply the best football player I've ever seen.  Rainey got a
number of touches, but didn't make a significant play that I can remember.

Drayton = fumbles, in my book.  As soon as he left, the fumbles went away.  As
soon as he returns, the fumbles come back.  He may be a good recruiter, but he
leaves a lot to be desired as a running backs coach.

I saw Carl Moore take a big hit to his back.  Hopefully, he didn't get injured
again.

Deonte Thompson looked like he dropped that TD pass early, but it was clearly
interference that wasn't called.  From what I saw, he caught everything else
today.

I like what Omarius Hines brings to the table.  He made several good plays.

All that being said, I'm sure this team will get better.  Everyone wrote off
Oregon last year after their first game, but they got better over the course of
the season.  I think this team will as well.
