Caveat: I only saw the second half
Good to see the snap issues straightened out. All of them seemed to
come up right to chest level so Brantley could just look down the field.
It looked miserable hot out there. I'm surprised more players didn't go
out with cramps or dehydration.
Carl Moore made some really tough catches. Hopefully, he keeps that up
the rest of the year.
Still saw a lot of Halapio. I would have expected to see Wilson, but I
heard he was injured. After that, I would have expected to see Hurt,
but I think he was playing another position. It would be nice to see
how the line is with everybody back healthy.
I can see where this offense is still learning about themselves.
Sometimes Brantley isn't sure about what to do. That's ok. Sorry about
the tired phrase, but he and the offense will get better and better with
more experience.
On other teams:
Is it wrong for me to enjoy the FSU beatdown as much as I enjoyed the
Gator win? Boy did they look bad. They had a good first drive (which
I'm sure they worked on all offseason), and then disappeared. Their
defense may be as bad as last year. The special teams seem OK, though.
They have a good kicker, decent punter, dangerous punt returner in Reid,
but terrible kick returning with Joyner - he couldn't even get back to
the 20 usually. I don't know why not; he certainly had enough practice.
I guess Ohio State can only beat teams from the south if it's Miami. I
occasionally flipped over to this game, and it seemed like if OSU was
more efficient on offense, they would have blown out the U as badly as
FSU was blown out.
Who would have thought SOS would ever give a running back 37 carries in
one game?
