I think that we should always have going to Atlanta as our goal, but can't rightfully expect to do so every year. Next year we're facing a Tennessee team that looks like they're finding their feet a bit under Dooley, SOS' boys who now appear to be a bonafide contender, as well as the stinkin' mutts, who looked dangerous at times with a freshman QB (although losing AJ Green will hurt him/them). Also, in addition to our annual SEC west battle with LSU, our rotating oppenents from that division will be Bama and Auburn. Brutal.
So...I won't neccessarily be calling for his head, or even conceding that his was a bad hire, if we narrowly miss getting to Atlanta, *IF* we look like a real team, and are competitive in our losses. And I'd apply that same standard no matter who was hired. --- On Tue, 12/14/10, Oliver Barry <[email protected]> wrote: How will his first season be assessed? If he wins the SEC east will that be sufficient? Will he have to win an NC to be considered successful? I think, that with the talent Florida has, he’ll have to at least make it to the SEC championship game. If Chris Petersen came in at Florida I’d think that would have to be the standard. If Whittingham came in… same standard. Any other head coach? Same standard. So, do we have to cut Muschamp some slack because he’s coming in as a career assistant? I say no.
