LOL! Now, THAT was the response I was expecting. :)
Sounds pretty much like my opinion of either Nashville or Atlanta. I'm right
in the middle of both of them (two hours either direction), and although
they are nice to visit, I wouldn't want to live there.

Ok, I will chime in since Randy was obviously baiting me!
First, I live 3 hours away from Seattle by car. I think it is a nice place
to visit, but there isn't enough money in the world to get me to live there!
The traffic is horrible ( sorry Jerry - can't see what you are seeing
there), it rains a lot without the benefit of sunshine ( like in Florida),
and it is very expensive. Of course, my opinion is from the perspective of
someone who prefers smaller towns as opposed to big cities. Jerry is
correct- the food there is amazing. As for the arts and entertainment,
there is plenty to do. There is nothing quite like Pike Street Market, in
my experience. But Seattle is strictly a place I love to visit - and not
frequently!!
If a national laboratory or military research outfit suddenly pops up in
Gainesville , let me know! I will move there in a second! (-: As it
stands, I have a pretty good gig here in the Tri-Cities, with family nearby
and a relatively awesome job. And to make it Gator related, I AM the Gator
club out here. Our little group of Gators watch all the games at my house.
We sing "We Are The Boys" at the end of the 3rd quarter, and the alma mater
at the end of the game. I am needed up here to do my part in spreading the
Gator tradition to all parts of the world!
Do I pass, Oliver? (-:
Stacey
PS. I forgot to mention I live in the middle of excellent wine country, and
nice but inexpensive golf courses!

Randy,
I don't know if you have ever spent any time in Seattle, but it is one of
the very few places on the West Coast that I would consider living. It is
very clean, the weather is fantastic year round, the traffic is very well
planned, and the food is fantastic. Because of the sea currents, the
climate is very mild in spite of its Northern latitude. For example, the
highs this week are in the mid to high forties, while the lows are only
39.

Makes sense to me. Why would ANYONE want to live in Seattle when they can
live in Gainesville instead?
Anyone want to take a shot at that question? Anyone? :)
