There was an article posted on Facebook that indicated the Gator players did have a curfew and that there was very little partying going on, that most of the guys were choosing to hang out with each other in their own hotel. It was a really positive article that made me think they had their heads screwed on straight in preparation for the game. In the end, though, I have to agree with you that most of them seemed like they left their heads somewhere else. :-/
I was about to take exception with your statement about the SEC games being disappointing, but I see you sent your email before the Texas A&M game last year. It was far from disappointing.
