Sonny's has both corporately owned and franchised locations is probably
why there is the difference in menu and specials. They do give more
leeway to the franchises to allow for local favorites and tastes.
Sonny's is my favorite BBQ chain because of the consistency that you get
as you travel. I know that there are better BBQ restaurants around, but
if you are in a place where you aren't sure and you want good BBQ,
Sonny's is a safe bet in my opinion.

Those were my go-to spots in Gainesville for independent fine dining.
I am sure that new restaurants have arisen to take their place, but can't
seem to find them.
Chains along 34th and Archer - sure, there a zillion.
But unique high quality restaurants? I am at a loss.
I did enjoy the Paramount Grill downtown.
Does anyone have suggestions for upscale dining?
I still like Emiliano's, but am hoping for a step up.
Outside of downtown would be a plus, parking is pretty tough on the
weekends.
Surely there must be something to the North and Northeast of campus...
