I see and would endorse your view - in fact as I said I am happy with the
GB1000 in terms of product/performance and would and indeed have recommended
it - in fact I still would if asked. In terms of scalability I see your
point, and I had not really considered the option or building a system using
a beefed up PC as I like the appliance model where I can get it. I have also
just noted that the model they quote is of a lower specification than that
currently shipped and the firmware/ software revision is probably out of
date too.

The tone of the article is the thing that really staggered me, it is pretty
negative and as you say comparisons with higher cost models are misleading -
I was a bit indignant to tell the truth as I like the product, and was
trying to bring attention to the fact that the potential buyer was being
given an impression that was unfavourable to say the least.

For the record, we just bought a RoboX for our fringe office VPN and it
works a treat as well :-)
