I bet there was one other reused component - the floppy with your configuration
on it, no?  i've had crashes/hangs/weirdnesses before that i just couldn't 
explain
other than some kind of corruption of one or more gnatbox files on the 
floppy (or
the flash unit).

if you upgraded to gbflash, you probably had to create a config from 
scratch (possibly
merging things in), so i'm betting you won't see this again...
