The 3.0 manual is provided in PDF format on the CDROM and in the downloadable installer. We have not printed a manual yet as we are waiting to include the VPN information for the next installment of 3.0.
Have you run a configuration verification? Did it report any errors or warnings? I think perhaps your alias definitions have some problems. Also you may have a mis-configuration with Static Outbound Mapping. You may have accidently mapped your entire internal network or some servers to the address of an alias. If so you'd see the behavior you described.
