Sorry, your mention of DNS caused me to misunderstand your question. I added an alias to the External interface on my GNAT Box, restarted it, opened some connections, and checked the active connection list. Mine (correctly) showed the EXT address.
Do you possibly have some static NAT configured? -----Original Message----- From: Jason Antonacci [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2000 5:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: External interface IP wrong. The IP shown in System Activity>Active Connections is the same as the alias, instead of the configured EXT interface IP. What I'm asking is why does adding an alias change our EXT interfaces IP!?! >>> "Michael W. Check the entries (forward and reverse) for the GNAT Box on your DNS Server. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jason Antonacci Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2000 5:02 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: External interface IP wrong. Send postings to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Access the list archives at: http://www.gnatbox.com/gb-users/ ---------------------------------- We access several sites that use reverse DNS lookups for security. We also have external aliasaes for a variety of PSN and PRO computers. Recently (3 months ago) we upgraded to 3.01 from 2.20. Evidently the GNATBox is taking its IP from the first external alias instead of the IP specified in Basic Configuration>Network Information. Is this a bug or a feature. We have no GB3.01 documentation, just the GB2.2. TIA, Jason S.
