The link supplied in my original post is titled:

Authentication"

Is "Pre-shared Key Authentication" the same as "manual key exchange"???

We haven't investigated the Win2K IPSec client, since the initial VPN
release (3.0.2) is targeted for network to network connectivity.
However the software doesn't exclude connections by IPSec client
software, it just doesn't facilitate them. So the Win2K IPSec client
may work, but most likely it will not. The reason is that our
initial release only supports the use of manual key exchange and most
of these workstation clients only support IKE (automated key
exchange). IPSec implementations for Linux (Free S/Wan) and BSD Unix
system (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD) most likely will work fine with
GNAT Box. FreeBSD has been tested since it's our platform of choice
here at GTA.
Our plan is to have the next VPN release of GNAT Box support IKE,
hopefully sometime in the Spring. At that time I would suspect most
of the PC/MAC IPSec clients will work just fine.
