Paul, I suggest that you do not abandon the Unix log format or at least retain it as an option. There are many Unix log analysis tools out there which could be used or tweaked to use for analysing Gnatbox logs.

MKS Toolkit has nearly all the Unix shell tools you'd want: awk, sed, grep and so on. 2. Perl is free and with the right scripts you could put out just about any kind of report you'd want.
