You get other alarm messages from the GNAT Box,
I assume (so that you know that Alarm messages
are being generated for things that the GNAT Box
blocks)?

If so, and if you are not getting block messages
for this traffic, then that narrows it down to
two possibilities:
1.  The network packets from the UNIX system are
    not arriving at the GNAT Box.  Check for
    packet filtering on the router and things
    like that.
2.  The network packets are being accepted by
    the GNAT Box, but the printer is not
    accepting them or not replying to them.
    Make sure that the default route is set
    correctly on the printer.
