Actually, Telcos here - France - are always providing CSU/DSUs with
T1/E1 they offer, so you don't need to deal with that.
Unless you're owner of the link...

Anyway, WAN---DSU---Router---LAN is a chain graved into stone until
now...

The only optionnal box is the FW actually ;)
