Besides that, we're also running Procmail Sanitizer and Spamassassin on the relay, they clean up the crap that gets past the blacklists. Altogether they make the spam killing machine remarkably capable, and it was dirt cheap. OpenBSD+1 cheap 1u case and a 850mhz PIII, 400m ram, it handles all the inbound crud without breaking a sweat. One of the more useful boxes on our network. Especially Procmail Sanitizer; not having to worry about the clueless being socially engineered into opening worms and such is an absolute must-most of them won't work on us anyway since we don't use LookOut, but they still often lock up boxes when they try to replicate and the expected LookOut Address Books aren't there or whatever. Do you run a local copy of the list(s) with customized TXT records, or do you have sendmail configured to send that static string for a 501? > We average 100 blocks daily with an all time high of over 4000 in one 24 > hour period; I see your 4000 and raise you 118,885. I think I've gotten four complaints of false positives for 2002 so far.
