One issue to be aware of with Mail Sentinel (not directly related to
anti-spam and a/v, but significant) is the behavior of the mail proxy when
the mail server is down.  The mail proxy bounces mail with a "not a mail
server" type message instead of a "not responding" message.  As a result, if
you have a store-and-forward solution in place the recovery server probably
will not queue mail, it will just bounce everything as undeliverable.

No, I have no statistical data.  We did see some false positives and
used the whitelisting feature to overcome them.  I do still occasionally
see spam messages in my inbox.  Sorry I can't provide more info, but I
again suggest you try it for yourself.
