Are you sure about this?
My tests show a 4xx error being issued which should generally cause the
sending mail server to queue the message.
I did test through a relay server though (the relay server queued the
message just fine when the firewall couldn't reach the backend mail server).
Overall the AS/AV works quite well in our experience.
