Mike,

I would start at the switch level instead.

If you have a managed switch, you should be able to get that data for
every physical port on the switch.

Then you can see if it's widespread, or one or two devices creating a
broadcast storm...

I have dealt with infrastructure cabling issues and can tell you first
hand that CAT-5 (and up) is sensitive to poor implementation. If the
cables are stretched, bent, kinked, nicked or mislaid (like near or over
electrical equipment - like fluorescent lighting units), this can create
a nightmare to diagnose. Also, if the switch is not capable of
"Auto-Negotiate", it can easily cause these types of issues.

As for GTA, I think you can get that data off the <ctrl> <F3> console.

Thanks,

Danny

Subject: [gb-users] Network interface statistics

Is there a way to check the NIC statistics for port errors such as CRCs,
over-runs, etc? It seems like I'm running into a lot of problems lately
with some devices that only work error free with auto-negotiation on and
others with the port settings hard coded. I currently have a
performance issue somewhere and would like to verify that the NICs in my
GB-Ware system are happy with their current settings.

Thanks,
Mike Benedict
