I have a very clean environment now and ≈8 GBi of free disk space. I could try a build and test of the latest PPC32 Leopard optimised version with only a minimum set of configure arguments and see whether it still builds. Could be some dirt effect (as also possible on non-PPC32 system) allows to build without interruption.
