Colleagues within the GCC community are starting to comment on how long this BZ
thread is - likely an all-time record.

Please can we take unrelated discussion to a different forum - I'm happy to put
discussion of gcc-10.5 + a more modern ld64 into a thread my GH discussions ...

... macports-related discussions belong on that site.
