Longterm wise it surely makes sense to go this way for Google as well as
for the user, but still, the way Google
handles this issue is not the finest way.
I hope there is something in the pipeline since the iPhone version of GMail
is already making full use of HTML5
and offline storage. As a bad interim solution one can set the Safari User
Agent to Mobile Safari to test and
maybe use this feature once in a while...
It is really weird that the full client lacks behind the iPhone version
somehow.
