I'm definitely having the non-loading background issue. It just stays
at a blank offline page with no information on it until I hit refresh
and watch the progress bar hit full. As for the themes, I haven't
tried that yet but I might! I guess for now I'm just glad that my
google sites aren't all down thanks to Gears anymore, but yeah, I
definitely can't wait for all of this to improve :-S One of my clients
was very into Gmail Apps Offline for her company up until one day when
it all started crashing (around the release of Safari 4, even though
she didn't download it), so I wasn't too surprised when she said she
was going back to Outlook *cringe*.

Anyway, continued use has revealed a few odd bugs lately such as
multiple drafts of the same e-mail being saved, all with different
copies of the same e-mail and different files in some instances. And
it seems there is some mild incompatibility between having Apple's
iCal open at the same time as Google Calendar. It'll start syncing but
it takes forever, and closing one or the other seems to kill the lag.
