Hello

You've listed a pretty varied group of geckos there. We like to keep
all of our geckos on a more naturlistic substrate, and I'm pretty sure there
aren't too many geckos naturally found on crushed walnut shells. Now, as
for how well the substrate itself works, the only time I've used it was in a
pet store I worked in and it was all I had for supplies. What I found was
that it tended to mold very quickly in high humidity situations. Being that
it is a desert blend that only stands to reason. You might want to
consider peat moss, or a combination of peat and orchid bark to house your
ciliatus on. That combination would probably be better for your tokay as
well. The humidity requirements are lower with the rest of the gex you
listed, but I'd certainly be worried about the grain size being too big to
pass through the intestinal tract of a younger or smaller gecko. I've never
heard or read any horror stories about impaction with this substrate, but I
would still be careful. Maybe some of the other gec-a-holics on this server
have heard something?

Hope this helps!

James and Renee
