Hello Greg,
We regularly weigh all of our CB Phelsuma day geckos. We weigh for many
reasons including gauging the health of the geckos. We also have a large
group of Patternless Leopard geckos (E. macularius) and weigh them weekly
and right after eggs are laid. We are able to figure out who just laid the
current clutch by the sudden drop in weight of the female that is minus the
eggs.
I agree that 1 lb. 1 oz. (482 g.) seems like a extremely big Leopard gecko.
Our very large and hefty male Tokay geckos (Gekko gecko) weigh in at around
210 grams (8 oz.).
