Do any listers have experience sexing Underwoodisaurus milii?
I have two animals that are hopefully a pair. The largest one
is definitely male, with noticeable hemipenal bulges and
an area of darkened, enlarged ventral scales on the lower abdomen.
The smaller one however, is more difficult to figure out. There is a
smaller bulge behind the vent, but it is not noticeably divided into two
bulges. It also has enlarged scales on the lower abdomen, but they are
less distinct and lighter than in the male. I'm wondering if this one may
be female or is it likely an immature male? It has a SVL of approx. 75 mm.
Anyone know of any references for sexing these gex?
