Cyndy,

If your egg lay box is set up properly, your vermiculite or peat should be
still contained in the box even though the females have been digging. Just
cut a small hole on top of the box set-up lid, just big enough for them to
get in and out. Leave ragged edges, if you end up with them, for the leos to
shed on.
