Go with what you can afford for now. That is how I started. I got my first
leo in Oct. 96. After getting him and completely falling in love with him I
decided to get a few females. I same the money I received for my birthday
and Christmas with the intent in Spring 97 of getting some females. Spring
break came and I bought myself 5 normal females. Later that year I got my
first patternless leos. I early 98 I got a hi-yellow and a jungle. In 99 I
got an other jungle, some stripes, a tangerine, and after begging to use (at
the time I was 17) some money I had saved up in an account I got a female
Tremper albino, and a pair of 100% het Rainwater albinos. This past year I
got another pair of het Rainwater albinos and a hypo tangerine. To honestly
tell you, at first I didn't really care for the designer morphs as I had
only seen pics and the only reason why I got into the albinos was because in
March 98 I went to my first herp expo and got to see Rainwater's original
male albino. FREAKIN AWESOME! Other than that, I'd probably still just be
normal leos (the morph I still like over all my others). I guess what I'm
trying to say is get what YOU like and as I said earlier, can afford. Just
be forewarned, 1 or 2 may not be what you end up having in 6-8 months. I
know after my first I wanted more.
Anyway, enough rambling,
later,
Chris
P.S. I made a genetics page. It explains hets, double hets, etc.
