May I offer you a few suggestions regarding the hiding place?

First of all, confining your leopard doen't sound like a very good thing to
do, and neither does trying to increase the humidity in the whole cage.
Leopards are not a high-humidity lizard.

I think I said this to someone else in other words, but I personally believe
that you have to make hiding places large enough to accommodate at least one
animal, and it's probably best to provide one for each animal, except
obviously in a large harem. I think it's also best to make the hole just
larger than the animal can fit through. Also, I understand that leopards
need enough darkness.

There's also, not to minimize this, the temperature factor. As you probably
know, leopards thermoregulate their body temperature by moving when they are
too cold or too hot. So it's a good idea to have more than one hiding place
available at diffferent temperature areas. My baby leopard seems to
tolerate a daytime temperature of about 84 inside her hiding place, but
there is a temperature gradient inside the hiding place.

As far as the actual humidity goes, I am using a normal-sized sponge that I
soak with water and shake out so it's not dripping, and put inside the
hiding place on a plastic surface to conserve the humidity. A foam sponge
is recommended.

I hope that's all it is.
