I have never seen a gceko drop their tail by any means other than physical
pressure on the tail. It can happen by getting caught in the cage, bites,
rough handling, ect....
The sensitivity of the tail can vary greatly species to species. I had
people tell me that Rhacodactylus can easily drop theirs, but I have not
ever lost a tail on any of mine.
