I would recommend taking a single edged razor
blade and trying to work it into the seam in the
glass from both sides. You will have to run it up
and down over and over. The thin blade should
eventually be able to be worked into the seam from
the open end and act like a wedge to open it up.
If you go with the break it method, duct tape both
sides to keep it from going all over the place and
be sure to wear goggles.
My favorite method is to put the tank on end
directly behind the band saw. Next you attempt to
cut a coconut in half with the band saw. Then,
while not holding the coconut firmly in your
hands, allow the saw blade to catch in the nut and
pull it out of your wimpy grasp. Aforementioned
fruit will then roll off the back of the band saw
and fall onto the side of the aquarium, thus
shattering the glass. It is now very easy to
remove the glass. However if your intention was to
cut a coconut in half (as was mine) you have to go
to plan C, this time with the tank far, far
away...
