The usual single edge blades have a thicker backing, which makes
them suboptimal for this.  What you really need are the old-style
double edged safety razor blades which are paper-thin.  Break it
in half so that your fingers are sliced more slowly as you use the
blade.  Long ago, all non-straight non-electric razors used these
blades, and they were available everywhere for a pittance.  Now you
have to search and pay through the nose for them.
