As I reported earlier, I lost a lovely, healthy, gravid, laying female
leo to sand impaction. She had been on the same sand since I got her
from a teenager 6 months prior - and probably on that since she was
first brought home from the pet store. She had a dish of calcium, and
dusted crix and meal worms. Maybe she was looking for additional
nutrients due to the stress of egg-laying? My vet recommends large
pebbles/small stones (bigger than their mouths).
