My dad recently acquired a pair of geckos labeled
Dubia Day geckos. When we looked them up in Sean
Mckeown's book they didn't exactly match the photo.
At the time of purchase they were phelsuma green in
body with bluish tails. They darkened at home, but
the same way my grandis do--like someone turned off
the internal light--so they are still greenish in
tint, not reddish like the ones pictured. Their size
is about right, though. Any ideas? (yeah, I know, a
photo would help, I'm working on it) Could it just be
color variation? They do occasionally lighten up
again, just to let us know we weren't imagining their
color when he bought them! They are somewhat
inquisitive, and quick to take interest when the tank
is opened.
