No. Below are links to vent pics of a male and female tokay. http://wsphotofews.excite.com/012/tv/xn/F7/pC88803.jpg - female http://wsphotofews.excite.com/023/G6/II/JQ/qe44852.jpg - male
Do to flash, the pics aren't as clear, but you'll notice on the male spurs where his tail base meets. You'll also notice he has 2 dark spots below the vent opening. Because of lack of clarity you can't really tell, but the male also has secretions from his femoral pores. At about 5-7 inches males will develop these secretions. Females may or may not have evidentice of pores. In both of my adult males (14 and 16 inchers) neither have notable bulges. I'll try to get clearer pics of the pores later tonight. Later, Chris P.S. You'll be able to find the updated pics in the tokay gallery at this site: http://community.webshots.com/user/tokaybyt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hannah L Z-ya right" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2001 3:55 PM Subject: [Gecko] Gekko Gecko > If a 9" tokay is not showing hemipenal bulges is it safe to assume it is > a female? > Thanks, > Hannah > ________________________________________________________________ > GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! > Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! > Join Juno today!
