Several years ago somebody posted to this list a way to sex Gekko by looking
inside the mouth (gee... just how do you get a tokay to open its mouth?  if
only there were a way to do that...ha).

In any case, I've tried it and it worked okay.  Females have endolymphatic
sacs that can be seen from inside the mouth, sorta where you'd expect
tonsils to be.  males generally lack these.  This combined with the pores
and the ever-so-slight difference in post-anal swelling... and the
difference in head size (all the males I've seen ... and known to be
male!!.... tend to have a more pronounced "neck", possibly from having a
wider head)... If all else fails, in 100% of cases, the one that lays eggs
is female.
