<< Which genders underbellies do you refer to? Males and / or females?
 - Is the Upland-/Lowland-Origin only speculation, or have the animals in
question been imported from known localities on Maurice?
 - Has the ban on exporting any Phelsuma from Maurice been lifted, or how
come traders seem to offer WCs on US-shows openly ... with papers?

Hi Hartmut-
Not wrath- I've been waiting for input from others about this.
I have animals of both sexes that have green underbellies.
I have animals of both sexes that have white underbellies.
Red is news to me. Of the photos you attached, I would venture a guess that
the one shown in profile is a upland female. That is, if my belief is
correct. The other one shot head on I cannot even guess.
Last year in Daytona Jamie Corell and I examined a large group of cepediana
we decided were WC upland animals. It seems that most dealers simply take WC
and call them CB. I went back and looked at every single animal. And typical
of Strictly Reptiles, the woman there had no knowledge of their origin, or
even what they were. They only knew the price.

I based my belief on this and the group of CB animals I have from different
sources, but perhaps all traceable to Postma stock- Which I believe are
lowland animals.
To be honest, I know of no one who has geographic information on their
cepediana.
If anyone does have geographic info, we'd like to hear about it and get a
description of your animals. So I guess my belief is, in truth, speculation.

I have also observed that they will not interbreed. And I now keep them
housed separately.
I am eager to hear anything more that anyone can add to this subject. Magnus-
are you out there? Jamie?
And anyone who can reach out to Mr Siepp or to Olaf Pronk, perhaps they can
clarify further for us. Or confound us further- Red underbellies??????
very interesting stuff- not bad for a saturday on the list.
Jason
