Today I just recieved my first female Phelsuma V-nigra v-nigra, and I have
two questions about this species. I've had a male v-nigra and was wondering
if after a few months in quarenteen if they could be housed together? In Sean
McKeown's book it says they should be housed seperately, but I wanted to know
if anyone has ever suscessfully housed them as pairs. Also my female looks a
little different from my male, she is a darker green, has more red in her
eyes and has a brown stripe down each of her sides. I didn't know if these
differences were all just stress related or if she may be a different
subspecies of V-nigra, or a cross of two subspecies. She suffered a lot of
stress on trip from CA to IL, and appeared dead when i first got her, I put
her under a basking light after I saw a slight movement and slowly she went
into shock, she is now doing much better and is temporaily housed in a
critter keeper (I'll be moving her in to a 20g tall in a day or two).
Hopefully she'll make a full recovery.

Mike
